Jadeja apologizes to Sarfaraz for run-out in IND vs ENG

Sarfaraz quickly progressed in his innings, achieving his maiden half-century in just 48 balls. However, his attempt to prolong his time at the crease was abruptly ended due to a misunderstanding with Jadeja. Ravindra Jadeja apologized to his teammate Sarfaraz Khan on Thursday after inadvertently running him out during the first day of the 3rd Test against England in Rajkot.

The incident led to Indian skipper Rohit Sharma expressing his frustration in the dressing room, as broadcast cameras captured him throwing away his cap in response to the run-out. After the match, Jadeja took to Instagram to apologize to Sarfaraz for the confusion. “Feeling regretful for Sarfaraz Khan. It was my error. Well played,” the experienced all-rounder wrote in his Instagram story.

Sarfaraz had already addressed the incident in the post-match press conference, acknowledging that such occurrences are a part of the game. “He came to the dressing room and mentioned, ‘There was a slight miscommunication.’ I reassured him, ‘These things happen.’ It’s part of the game,” Sarfaraz explained.

In his first appearance wearing the Indian Test cricket uniform, Sarfaraz showcased aggressive batting by hitting nine boundaries and a six, responding effectively after India lost four wickets. He subsequently teamed up with Jadeja to create an 87-run partnership.

India won the toss and chose to bat first in Rajkot. However, they encountered difficulties, losing three wickets in the initial session and reaching a score of 33/3 when captain Rohit Sharma was joined by Jadeja. Both players, who each reached a century, then formed a formidable 204-run alliance for the fourth wicket.

Despite losing five wickets overall, India concluded the day with a total of 326 runs on the scoreboard, with Jadeja remaining unbeaten on 110. Kuldeep Yadav had just commenced his innings, while Dhruv Jurel, Ravichandran Ashwin, and Axar Patel were yet to bat.
