Shericka Jackson who holds the title of a two-time 200m world champion, emerged victorious over Marie-Josee Ta Lou. Meanwhile, Olympic champion Elaine Thompson-Herah clinched the third position, and Richardson closely followed her in the rankings.

This victory held particular significance for Jackson as it marked her first triumph over Richardson in the 100m after four races this season. Jackson now sets her sights on completing a remarkable Diamond double by competing in the 200m event scheduled for the following day.
Despite her performance in the competition, Richardson remained optimistic as she wrapped up her season. She had previously claimed her first global title by winning the 100m gold in Budapest, setting a championship record with a time of 10.65. Richardson also added a bronze medal in the 200m and a gold in the 4x100m relay at the same championship.
Richardson expressed her perspective by saying, “What truly matters is finding inner peace as an athlete, being a formidable competitor, and executing my capabilities, especially after a remarkable season. I have no regrets about my performance today. It was a fantastic way to conclude the season and provides valuable insights for my preparation ahead of the upcoming Olympics next year.”
