This week holds special significance for Iga Swiatek as she marks her 100th week as the top-ranked player in the WTA rankings. She joins an exclusive group as the ninth woman in WTA history, and the fifth youngest, to reach this achievement.

After initially ascending to No. 1 on April 4th, 2022, she maintained her position for 75 weeks until September 10th, 2023. Following a brief stint at No. 2 for eight weeks when Aryna Sabalenka took over, Swiatek reclaimed the top spot on November 6th, 2023, following her victory at the WTA Finals. Impressively, she has held onto this position for 25 consecutive weeks since then.

With this milestone, Swiatek now joins the esteemed ranks of only nine women who have spent 100 career weeks at No. 1.

Fritz achieved a significant milestone in Munich by reaching his first ATP clay-court final at the ATP 250 event, ultimately finishing as the runner-up to Germany’s Jan-Lennard Struff. Coincidentally, four Argentine players make breakthroughs into either the Top 50 or Top 100 rankings in the same week.

Three 23-year-old Argentine men accomplish notable feats: Mariano Navone climbs from No. 52 to No. 41, marking his debut in the Top 50 after reaching the final in Bucharest; Facundo Diaz Acosta advances from No. 53 to No. 47, also making his Top 50 debut following a quarterfinal appearance in Barcelona; and Francisco Comesana rises from No. 115 to No. 96, making his debut in the Top 100 after winning the Challenger title in Oeiras, Portugal.

Furthermore, 21-year-old Argentine Julia Riera enters the WTA Top 100, ascending from No. 112 to No. 94 after claiming the most significant title of her career at the $75,000 ITF Circuit event in Chiasso, Switzerland.
