Mbappe tells Ligue 1 champions: Staying with PSG this summer

Kylian Mbappé.

Kylian Mbappe is not part of PSG’s main squad and will stay on the sidelines until his contract ends next summer. When he inked his present deal last year, Mbappe thought PSG would bring in Robert Lewandowski and Bernardo Silva. Furthermore, he declined a £258 million proposal from Al-Hilal.

Kylian Mbappe has assured Paris Saint-Germain that he will remain with the club throughout this summer, without exception

As a result, PSG’s position remains unaltered – he will be left out of involvement and won’t participate until his contract concludes in the upcoming season. When he prolonged his contract last summer, he believed that Robert Lewandowski and Bernardo Silva would also become part of the Paris squad. Simultaneously, PSG is getting ready for his absence. Their goal is to set a precedent and communicate to all players, irrespective of their stature, that no individual exceeds the club’s significance.

Noteworthy, Al-Hilal recently proposed a £258 million deal, which Mbappe declined for a year-long term in Saudi Arabia. PSG holds the view that Mbappe has already committed to a free transfer to Real Madrid in the subsequent summer.

PSG is open to receiving offers for Neymar

In the upcoming summer, Paris Saint-Germain has opted to consider offers for Neymar, a decision stemming from his expressed wish to leave the club. Depending on the interested parties, PSG will assess offers ranging between £50 million and £80 million for Neymar, who holds the distinction of being the world’s most expensive player.

Neymar’s preference leans toward reuniting with Barcelona, although their financial troubles might impede such a move. Despite official denials, PSG’s leadership has been made aware of Neymar’s desire to depart. As he still has three years remaining on his £25 million yearly contract, the question arises whether his departure is voluntary or compelled.

Being 31 years old, Neymar doesn’t hold the status of a pivotal player for the recently appointed head coach, Luis Enrique, as he shapes a rejuvenated team. PSG has demonstrated a readiness to part ways with him, focusing on assembling a younger and more driven squad.

Several clubs hailing from Saudi Arabia, Brazil, the USA, and Europe are anticipated to compete for his signature in the upcoming summer transfer window. Notably, discussions were initiated with Chelsea in January.
