YouTuber-turned-boxer Jake Paul scores a headline-making victory over boxing legend and former heavyweight world champion Mike Tyson, despite the 31-year age gap!
The eagerly awaited bout, sanctioned as a professional fight and modified to account for the 31-year age difference between Jake Paul and boxing legend Mike Tyson, promised to be thrilling. The 27-year-old Paul boldly declared ahead of the match,
“Someone’s getting put to sleep,” signaling his ambition to take down the retired heavyweight star. In the end, Paul clinched a unanimous points victory at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas, the iconic venue that serves as the Dallas Cowboys’ home and the largest NFL stadium in the U.S.
Despite high anticipation, some fans felt the fight didn’t fully deliver, with boos echoing through the stadium in the final rounds over the perceived lack of action. However, the match concluded with mutual admiration, as Paul hailed Tyson as “an icon” and expressed his honor in sharing the ring with him. At the same time, Tyson, 58, commended Paul as a “good fighter” and noted he had nothing to prove but to himself.
Though the fight may not have met every expectation, it left a memorable mark on both competitors and fans alike.
This wasn’t Jake Paul’s first step into the professional boxing ring. The American YouTube star made his debut in 2020 and faced his most high-profile opponent, Tommy Fury, brother of heavyweight champ Tyson Fury, last year, narrowly losing by a split decision.
Nicknamed the “Problem Child,” Paul has since built an impressive fight record, claiming victories over several top fighters, including former UFC star Nate Diaz, pro boxer Andre August, Golden Gloves champion Ryan Bourland, and, most recently, MMA standout Mike Perry.
On the other hand, “Iron Mike” Tyson is celebrated as one of boxing’s all-time heavyweight legends, achieving 44 knockouts throughout his career before retiring in 2005 after his final fight against Kevin McBride. Tyson briefly returned to the ring in 2020 for a nostalgic face-off against boxing icon Roy Jones Jr., with the bout ending in an unofficial draw.

Jake Paul boldly predicted earlier this week that the fight wouldn’t last long. “No, someone’s getting knocked out,” he said. “It’s going to be a battle, and we’re both heavy hitters. This fight won’t last the full 16 minutes.”
Mike Tyson, reflecting on his turbulent career, shared his past struggles: “I’ve been through so much since my last fight with Kevin McBride. I’ve been to rehab, been in prison, locked up. Never did I think I’d be doing this again.”
