After departing Paris Saint-Germain as a free agent, Lionel Messi relocated to the United States in the summer of 2023. At that time, he decided to pursue the American dream and joined forces with Manchester United legend David Beckham at DRV PNK Stadium.
Initially, Messi, accompanied by his wife Antonela and their three sons, leased a $9 million (£7 million) apartment. Subsequently, they acquired a $10.75 million (£8 million) waterfront mansion in Fort Lauderdale. This expansive residence, covering 10,500 square feet, includes 10 bedrooms, a spa room, two boat docks, a swimming pool, and a balcony providing stunning views of the local skyline.
Patrick Bet-David, an American entrepreneur, author, and financial adviser, resides as one of Lionel Messi’s neighbors. Teammate Sergio Busquets also resides nearby in the same community. During an interview with VladTV, Bet-David highlighted the notable increase in property values in South Florida, mentioning, “As of today, I’ve seen a $25 million increase in equity on my house.
Messi and the family visited a childhood friend of Antonela, just like a regular guy, in a regular neighborhood, visiting regular people.

Seems Messi is loving this new life in Miami, visting regular places. GOAT of the regular people. pic.twitter.com/TOCPqUmen0
Messi recently moved in right next to my place. Everyone wants to be part of our community, which is a gated island with only one entrance, providing high levels of safety and protection, hopefully remaining as such. With Messi’s presence, there’s a surge of people coming in their boats to admire the residences. Things are going well for us.”
Messi owns an opulent Miami apartment and reportedly has two more condos in Sunny Isles Beach. Presently, he is enjoying a well-deserved break in his home country during the MLS off-season.
Nevertheless, he intends to make an early return to the United States in 2024 as Inter Miami gears up for friendly matches against teams such as Newell’s Old Boys and Cristiano Ronaldo’s Al-Nassr. With the recent inclusion of veteran Uruguayan striker Luis Suarez to their already star-studded lineup, the team is set on chasing additional significant accolades.
